About This Site

Keith R. Holden, M.D.  built this site for Social Security disability applicants, their attorneys, other claimant representatives, and disability advocacy groups. It provides articles, links, graphs, and PDFs you can download, which relate to the Social Security disability program and application process.

Mixed with program facts and figures are his own writings about the program, about medical issues relating to Social Security disability, and about how the disability application and decision process might be improved.

Since the Social Security Administration is in the process of updating the Listing of Impairments, Dr. Holden concentrates on these new listings. Dr. Holden's expertise in the program relates to adult physical impairments, and that will be the main focus for medical issues and listing discussions.

Dr. Holdren's goal is to educate others about the Social Security disability program, and to make the application process less stressful and more effective for those applying.

Dr. Holden recently left this practice field, and was planning to shut this site down.  Paul McChesney, an attorney who handles Social Security claims, see www.carolina-disability.com, is a fan of the DisabilityDoc site and could not bear to see it shut down, so he undertook to keep it on the web.

We aren't sure exactly what we will do with the site as time passes, but we are sure that we want to keep this valuable material available for those who need it.
